Trashed Review
For some reason I was hesitant to buy Trashed, after I had read only average reviews of it, but now that I own it and can decide for myself, the verdict is good. Trashed is cool.
Lagwagon continue their run with Trashed from 1994. This album is similar to Duh in many ways (speed drumming, metal licks - and lots of 'em) but definitely sounds better overall. In this album they give you a chance to hear Jesse's incredible bass talent in songs like Give it Back, amazing guitar solo's (Coffee and Cigarettes) and ecstatic drumming (Stokin' the Neighbours).
A highlight of this CD is Lagwagon's team up with Fat Mike on Lazy. It's one of those "angry-punk" songs, but the result is very good. Another song that deserves credit is Island of Shame, which Lagwagon liked enough to reluctantly make a video for.
This album might be credited as Lagwagon's "Funny" album, if such a thing exists, but in no way takes away from it's excellent sound and addictive vocals. Lagwagon keep on keeping on their cover frenzy with Brown Eyed Girl. This is arguably the most distributed punk mp3 on the net.
Overall Lagwagon have evolved further into their Duh sound, but it is definitely more structured punk rock.
