Let's Talk About Leftovers Review
It was always going to happen, I suppose. After 10 years of punk reign, Lagwagon come out with a compilation CD. Released on Joey's label, My Records, there is something for everyone on this fun CD. The cover contains a note from Joey, about 30 pictures, and a short description of every track, almost defeating the purpose of writing a review. But I will anyway.
There are about 4 songs that were left off each of their albums, ranging from what Fat Mike described as "too metal", to what Joey described as "The closest thing to country Lagwagon ever recorded".
Some of my favourites are Over the Hill (a Hoss outtake) which follows pretty much the same vein as Violins + Black Eyes; Want (on their Feedbag 7") a cover of an old Jawbreaker song; Restrain (off the Show soundtrack) which is a sort of metal effort, but still sounds like Lagwagon; Drive By (recorded with Hoss); and of their newer songs, Losing Everyone (avail. in the MP3 section.)
This CD has some really great songs, although they are more simple than the stuff on their other records, and contains a couple of live ones as hidden tracks at the very end of it - recorded in Tokyo shortly after Trashed was released.
Well, I don't know what else to say, except this should be the first Lagwagon CD you buy, if you don't already have any, to get a taste of just how many different styles of music Lagwagon has played through.
