Let's Talk About Feelings Review

As the latest Lagwagon release, they definitely show signs of venturing into new ground. Lagwagon experiment with different chords and timings with incredible results. Leave the Light On starts out as a dark sounding regret tune but ends as an "all's well that ends well" kinds of effort due to this slight change in Lagwagon's traditional punk style.

May 16 was the first taste of Let's Talk About Feelings I got, courtesy of Fat's Life in the Fat Lane, and had me anxious to rush back out to my record store to buy it right then. It is an excellent blend of sliding riffs and well-blended drums and vocals which would make an excellent show-closing tune.

A surprise but certainly a god one was the perfectly crafted ballad Owen Meaney. No one is quite sure who Owen Meaney is supposed to be but there is a book named that. Names aside, if this song is any indication of Joey's ability to write a soft song with deep meaning then we are in for a treat when Lagwagon release their next album.

Let's Talk About Feelings was maybe a bit of a stab in the dark for Lagwagon, but they hit the spot, whatever it was. The only complaint I have (and so do many others) is that the album is too short - but what is that when this 25 minutes is enough to keep any punk fan entertained for hours?
