Duh Review
Duh was Lagwagon's first album, but was an excellent combination of speed guitar riffs and thrashing drum rhythms. This is Lagwagon's heaviest release, but I suppose they've been getting softer every album they release.
The definite standout of this album is the excellently crafted "Angry Days". There are excellent vocals, heavy guitar, but the bass isn't very noticeable (which is a shame because Jesse is the best bassist I've ever heard) not just in this particular song but through the whole album.
One thing I have noticed during my time as a Lagwagon fan is that they are very good a covers, and do not let down in this effort. Bad Moon Rising (originally by Creedence Clearwater Revival) has remained it's original country feel, but Lagwagon adds just the right amount of quality punk rock.
Overall, Duh is a great album, fun to listen to, and one which you often find yourself marvelling in Lagwagon's talents. Other good songs include Bury the Hatchet, Child Inside and Noble End.
